When people decided to ditch their un-healthy lifestyle and decided to do diet and healthy lifestyle, they have choice between Weight-Loss or Fat-Loss. A lot of people been asking about what's the difference between those two method and what's best for them.
The main goal between Weight-Loss and Fat-Loss is basically the same; to lose weight as much as possible or be below a certain weight. The only different is how to do it.
The whole idea about Weight-Loss is to lose as much weight as you desire to, but you end up losing your muscle mass as well. To do the Weight-Loss method it's pretty simple; big caloric deficit and a ton of cardio work. People who want to do Weight-Loss have to has a caloric deficit for about 800-1000 caloric deficit from daily calories intake. Average calories intake is 2000-2500 calories, depend on the body weight. People who do Weight-Loss will struggle or even can't gain their muscle mass. Therefore, people who want to gain muscle and lose weight at the same tine have to go for Fat-Loss method.
Fat-Loss method is not as easy as Weight-Loss method. The main goal about Fat-Loss is to lose weight and gain the muscle mass at the same tine. For calories intake, you don't have to do a significant amount of caloric deficit. You only have to reduce around 300-500 caloric deficit from normal calories intake, 2000-2500 calories. And since Fat-Loss method is losing weight and gain muscle as well, you have to have enough protein intake in purpose to gain muscle weight. The formula for enough protein intake is 1 lbs (body weight) X 0,8-1 Gr (protein). And if Weight-Loss exercise is all about cardio, Fat-Loss only use cardio as a tool. The rest of is weight-lifting exercise such ass Bench-Press to train Pecs, Shoulder-Press to train Delts, Deadlift for Lats and Squat for Legs.
For digital era right now, there's already a lot of mobile apps that support healthy life to match your goal. For instance, MyFitnessApp by Under Armour.
And for those who questioning what's the best method to get the desired body weight, you have to ask to yourself. Are you ready to be on a caloric deficit and endless cardio to hit the idea of Weight-Loss or lifting weight everyday and eat enough protein to reach Fat-Loss goal?
