Why We Should Avoid Drinking Cold Water?

Its summertime and, Of course, It's going to be hot outside.
Everyone would love to start having fun and doing outdoor activities under the sun. After that, we'll always stop for a cold, refreshing drink such as cold water, sodas, lemonade and beers.

Its the first option for most people is to drink something cold on a hot, sunny day as its refreshing and yet satisfying, especially water, but is it really healthy though if we keep on drinking cold water even during times only we desire to?

Most would say that it would be harmless and we need it to cool our body on the inside but there's a lot more than that. Here's why we should start avoiding drinking cold water:

1. Digestion

We sometimes eat and consume spicy food. Once we can't stand the heat, our brain will start to tell us to drink something cold to cool off the heat. Everyone would rush to get a glass of cold water or milk, but this is bad for you.

Cold water will reduce our body's digestion process. This is because drinking cold water lowers our body's temperature, meaning that it requires more energy to regulate the body temperature and to break down the food in our stomach.

2. Sore Throat

Children and teenagers love to drink cold beverages, even young man and woman do as well. Elders rarely drink cold beverages as they try to avoid getting a sore throat. At a younger age, our body is strong enough to prevent this but as we get older, we'll often get a sore throat from a small cough. Not only this, cold water will increase the chance of us getting both flu and fever.

3. Health Conditions

In some cases, drinking cold water can trigger some illness. Back in the year 2001, research shows that drinking cold water can increase the pain of migraines in people that already experience migraine. The pain related to achalasia, a condition that limits your body’s ability to pass food through your esophagus, can also get worse when you drink cold water with a meal.

4. Reduce Breakdown of Fats

Do you Ever wonder why some people likes to say that drinking cold water can make you fat and unhealthy? Well, its not going to make you fat unless you drink cold water routine. Research claims that drinking cold water will reduce the rate of our body to breakdown fat molecules found in our food. So try not to drink too much of cold water regularly.

To summarise, cold water cannot be considered as dangerous or harmful but it's recommended that we should try to avoid it as the nutrients provided is the same as normal temperature water.

Weighted Blankets For A Better Nights Rest

How Do Weighted Blankets Work? Weighted blankets provide a sensation known as ‘grounding’ that applies moderate pressure to the sleeper’s body and pushes them further into their sleep surface. Grounding also triggers the release of hormones that calm the nerves and lead to a good night’s sleep. The blanket’s weight is key for preserving sleep quality and getting an adequate amount of rest each night. Weighted blankets should be tailored to the individual user. Most adults reach optimal comfort levels using a blanket that weighs roughly 5% to 10% of their own body weight. Children may also use weighted blankets; for most kids, a blanket weighing 10% of their body weight will yield the best results. Weighted blankets carry health and safety risks for children under eight years of age; kids in this age group should avoid using a weighted blanket unless it has been prescribed by a physician or licensed therapist.
